Chinese Tourism Has Increased In South Africa!

Travel agencies have reported a sharp influx in bookings from China between the Festive Season and the Chinese New Year, in February 2016. This is generally the peak season for Chinese travelers.

Studies have shown the number of Chinese tourists who visited South Africa has increased by 85.6% in 1 year (2014-2015).

South African tourism regional manager for Asia Pacific, Bradley Brouwer, states that Air China’s newly launched non-stop flight between Beijing and Johannesburg as well as the newly established Visa Facilitation Service centres in Guangzhou and Chengdu will bring increased numbers of Chinese travellers into South Africa in 2016. Not only is there now a direct flight from Beijing to South Africa but now the exchange rate is also  favourable for  foreigners.

Other than China, the 10 leading countries of origin of overseas tourists in South Africa were the UK, Germany, the US, France, The Netherlands, Australia, China, Switzerland, India and Canada.
